DIY Extension Installation

If you are on a limited budget and time is not of the essence, we would encourage the adoption of a DIY approach.

You should however be careful, and always follow the steps below before installing/upgrading a third party extension:

 

  1. perform a full backup of your website - we tell you how to backup here;
  2. check the extension is not on the Joomla! Vulnerable Extensions List;
  3. following installation, periodically check for new releases of the extension;
  4. if your website is a commercial one, check with the developer that there are no restrictions relating to use.
